Haven't checked in for awhile - you are really on the adventure of a lifetime! Makes me want to be early 20's again and doing the same...but alas, NOT! Love my life now, and love seeing yours be exactly as you want it to be. Keep having fun - I'll check in more often. You're seeing the perimeter of the country - we just came back from Nashville to Branson - a little piece of the interior. But what a great country we live in, as you're discovering. Stay safe.
Love you, Aunt Charlene

I tired to add to your trip in DC and can't add a comment.
When you get there you should go to the Library of Congress and the Iwo Jima Statue. Arlington Cemetery and the changing of the guards. There is also a tower just a block off the Mall behind the Smithsonian (the american history building side)(in a mall kind a thing with great smelling pastrys Carson!) that will give you a great view of the city. Also....The Holocost Museum is very powerful.... Take the time to spend walking everywhere. It is an amazing place. Most of it is free but you need to make reservaations early for many of the tours - The white house makes you go through your congressman so it's a tough tour to get in on. The metro there is great! See the sights at night too....It is a whole other experience...Roosevelt memorial (near the Jefferson) and the Korean (Near the Viet Nam) memorial are different and really neat...
Take the Capitol Tour. On the weekends they take you into the Senate...Yippee... If the light on top of the capitol is on it mean they are in session....
Maybe too much info... Ashly will love the air and space museum. It is all so overwhelming so take many beaks to rest...:>) God Bless America!!!:>)

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend, Dave, who was taken too early in his life. I will pray for peace for his family and friends.
